How do I create a Project in Firestop Locator?

In this article we will walk through the steps involved in setting up a new Project in FSL

A Project in Firestop Locator can range from a single floor or a single building, up to several buildings across an entire campus. Before you create a new project you need to have a team made in FSL that will be assigned to this project. You can follow this tutorial to walk you through how to setup a team (Setting up a Team in FSL). After you've created your team you will want to click the "+Add Project" button on the lefthand side of your FSL Dashboard.

After you've selected the "+Add Project" button you will be greeted by the new project pop over window, screenshot below. Fields on the left hand side of this window (Project Name, Status, and Team) are all required. The Project Address information on the right hand side is not required to create a new project but is recommended as best practice to populate when you create a project.

Once you've created your project you will want to add the Building(s) and Floor(s) that are associated with this project. If you are working with multiple buildings on a campus it is recommended to list each building with its corresponding floors under one project. This way any custom items or project documentation that you need tracked are kept together and you eliminate duplication of uploading.
